Afiq leads the JK Tyre Asia Racing Series testing

28 Feb 2008. Afiq lead the JK Racing Asia Series with an official time ahead of last year's champion Richard Bradley and IM Racing Nick de Bruijn. Nick de Brujin is the son of Peter de Brujin, the man behind PDB Kart Racing Team based in Europe who is the former World Karting Champion.
Afiq Ikhwan in his best lap was almost a second ahead of Richard in the 3rd session of the testing. With the new make of tires which was different from the Michelin, the team had to work on the car set-up to match the tires. Meritus had a good start with Afiq Ikhwan clocked fastest time in the 1st, 2nd & 3rd testings. Afiq Ikhwan was pipped in session 4 by 0.007 sec by Richard Bradley of Eurasia. The teams that were testing today were, Meritus-GP, Eurasia, E-Rain and IM Racing. Eurointernational and Petronas Mofaz Racing will be testing tomorrow.
The testing will resume tomorrow and will end on Thursday 3rd March before resuming for another 4 days starting on the 7th of March. Testing will be ban after 10 March.
